The Wyoming National Guard Education Assistance Program will help take care of your college tuition. Whether you are already in the Guard or thinking about joining, it doesn't matter. We can help you earn a degree tuition FREE .

If you are interested in joining the Guard, we can pay up to 100 percent of your college tuition if you commit to serving six years in either the Wyoming Army National Guard or the Wyoming Air National Guard. Not only will we help pay your tuition at the University of Wyoming, a Wyoming community college or an approved technical institution, we'll pay you for your Guard training.

If you're already a member of the Wyoming Army National Guard or the Wyoming Air National Guard you can take advantage of the program, as well. As long as you have spent at least six years in the Wyoming Guard, or are currently serving under your first six-year enlistment period, you are eligible to participate.

Every Guard member using the Plan must agree to serve two years in the Wyoming Guard after the last academic term for which they receive assistance.

And get this. The Wyoming National Guard will help pay for any one degree you want to get. If you want a bachelor's, fine. If you have a bachelor's and want to get a master's, OK by us. We even do Ph.D.s, cosmetology licenses and auto mechanic certificates. All you have to do is decide which one you want us to help pay for.

Your requirements to make sure we keep paying the bills are simple. They include:

  • Maintaining a C average.
  • Keeping up with Guard standards for drill attendance.
  • Adhering to Guard fitness requirements.
  • Making sure you serve in the Guard at least two years after you graduate or stop using the Plan.

The money was appropriated to the Wyoming Military Department by the 2001 Wyoming Legislature. The Wyoming National Guard Educational Assistance Plan went into effect for the fall 2001 semester.
